Our Story

The vision to serve immigrants began through Community Services at Creekside Community Church. With a diverse congregation in the heart of the Bay Area, Creekside has been intentional about supporting immigrant neighbors in our community. In March 2023, the church played a key role in launching Immigrant Hope San Leandro, a nonprofit organization that offers guidance and hope to those seeking legal pathways as they navigate the U.S. Immigration system.

    Shawn Hall

    Executive Director/Attorney

    After retiring from corporate law in 2019, Shawn felt called to begin a new phase of life focused on serving the poor and vulnerable. In considering the needs of the San Leandro community and how they aligned with his specific legal background, it became clear that immigration law was the area where he could make the most impact. Outside of his legal work, Shawn enjoys watching soccer and spending time outdoors, especially hiking and being near the water.

    Angela Sanchez-Cateriano

    DOJ Accredited Representative

    Driven by a genuine passion for helping others, Angela loves using her career as a legal professional to truly connect with people. She guides her clients through immigration matters and welcomes the opportunity to share her faith along the way. Outside of work, Angela cherishes time spent hiking with her husband and son, and she fills her spare moments with reading, painting, and playing the piano.

    Case Worker

    Beth Anne is inspired by a life-long love for world cultures and a mission to "love the foreigner among us." With a background in communications and a passion for bringing communities together, she loves supporting the local immigrant community through Immigrant Hope’s work in the Bay Area. You can also find her homeschooling her children, making chai, soaking in California's natural beauty with her family, or cheering from the soccer sidelines.
